Notepad++ Remove Installed Plugin (Easy)

This guide will show you how to remove an installed plugin in Notepad++. This is extremely important to know how to do. Sometimes we test adding different plugins to our programs, but don’t know how to uninstall them. Then when the plugin breaks everything, we are in a panic on how to fix it.

Before starting, make sure that any open documents are saved. Then the first thing we need to do is click on Plugins then Plugins Admin... in the main menu of Notepad++

Next we will click on the Installed tab of the new window that pops up.

In this example, I am going to remove a plugin called Document Monitor. This is a really handy tool for tailing a document for changes within Notepad++. Select the checkbox to the left of the plugin or plugins that you want to remove.

Once you are ready, click the Remove button on the top right to begin the uninstallation process.

It may need to exit out of Notepad++ in order for the uninstall to complete. If you see this prompt, click the Yes option.

Once Notepad++ restart the plugins will be removed. You can confirm this by going back to the Plugins Admin... and seeing that they are no longer in the Installed list.
